Abstract
Prabowo Subianto's visit to Kampung Nelayan Merah Putih in Gorontalo became a subject of coverage in online media. One of the online media outlets reporting on this visit was Tempo.co. One of the widely discussed reports regarding the visit was the statement using the phrase "orang pintar" (smart people) in one of the news articles about the working visit to Kampung Nelayan Merah Putih Gorontalo. As a mass media outlet, Tempo.co also published several reports related to Prabowo Subianto's speech delivered during the working program visit. This study aims to examine how Tempo.co frames the news as a mass media outlet to influence the wider public regarding the visit. This research is a qualitative study using the framing analysis method by Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki. The analyzed news articles were collected within the timeframe of May 9–10, 2026. This study yielded several findings in the form of elaborations on syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical structures. The research indicates that Tempo.co constructs a frame that is influenced by the media's own ideology. The framing applied to the four analyzed news articles demonstrates a skeptical frame toward the policies presented by Prabowo Subianto during his visit to Kampung Nelayan Merah Putih.
