Abstract
The rise of digital media, particularly TikTok has transformed the way religious preachers convey religious messages to the public, one example being the content promoting religious moderation shared by Habib Ja'far with Generation Z. This study aims to examine the influence of the credibility of Habib Ja'far’s TikTok content on Generation Z’s acceptance of the message, using Source Credibility Theory as the primary theoretical framework. The method used in this study is an explanatory quantitative approach with purposive sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire distributed to 100 respondents and analyzed using simple linear regression with the SPSS Statistics software. Variable X is Content Credibility, measured through three dimensions: expertise, trust, and likability; while variable Y is Message Acceptance, measured through cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions. The results of the study indicate that the Content Credibility of Habib Ja’far’s TikTok has a positive and significant influence on Message Acceptance among Generation Z, thus supporting the hypothesis of this study. Content credibility, particularly in the dimension of appeal in delivery style, proved to be the dominant factor shaping the acceptance of messages promoting religious moderation, although the audience’s motivation to take concrete action remains relatively lower compared to their understanding and attitudes.
