Abstract
Tulungagung Regency has a lot of very rich cultural potential, starting from the side of history, art, to craft. However, the potential is not yet supported by adequate cultural facilities. By 2025, the data regional statistics show that Tulungagung does not have a center culture that serves as a container of preservation, education, and development art. This condition indicates the need to build a Cultural Center Tulungagung as an integrated facility capable of supporting activities culture. The purpose of this design is to design a cultural center which can accommodate cultural activities as a whole, as well as reflect the identity of Tulungagung through a symbolic approach. Stages that used include the interpretation of titles and symbols of regional culture, collection data, data analysis, determination of the theme, to the formulation of the concept through the method combination metaphor. The design results show that the symbolic approach applied through the processing of local metaphors that are reflected on all elements plan. The result of the concept describes a functional Cultural Center, communicative symbolically, and able to accommodate cultural activities Tulungagung.
