Abstract
This study aims to examine domestic tourists' perceptions of Ludruk performances as a local cultural tourism attraction in Surabaya, the factors influencing their interest in watching Ludruk, and its potential development as a cultural tourism attraction. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The informants consisted of ten domestic tourists, including those who had watched Ludruk performances live at UPT. Taman Budaya Jawa Timur. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that domestic tourists generally have positive perceptions of Ludruk performances. The main attractions of Ludruk include its humor, Remo dance, storylines related to everyday life, musical accompaniment, language use, and moral messages conveyed in the performance. Tourists' interest in watching Ludruk is influenced by promotion and information dissemination, social media, language use, interest in local culture, innovation in performance presentation, and the availability of clear performance schedules. Furthermore, Ludruk still has strong potential to be developed as a local cultural tourism attraction in Surabaya. However, its audience is currently dominated by local residents and tourists from areas surrounding Surabaya
