Abstract

The “BIOCLIMATIC BEACH RESORT IN DLODO BEACH AREA TULUNGAGUNG” design project focuses on the development of a coastal resort that is climate-responsive and ecological, and supports healing activities based on natural landscapes. The site is located in the Dlodo Beach area, which has hilly topography, dense coastal vegetation, and the potential for strong sea breezes. A bioclimatic approach is applied through the arrangement of building masses that follow natural contours, the use of wind corridors, the preservation of existing vegetation, and the provision of water elements to help passively cool the air. The architectural concept is enriched with a modern interpretation of the Joglo roof shape, the use of local materials such as wood and bamboo, and a split-level strategy to minimize cut and fill. The design results show that the integration of bioclimatic principles with the cultural context and coastal landscape can produce comfortable, shady, and environmentally harmonious residential and healing spaces.
