Abstract
Food security for farming households in rural agrarian areas remains a serious problem due to limited income, dependence on staple foods, and minimal food variety. This study analyzes food consumption patterns, food security levels, and their relationship with farmer households in Nyawangan Village, Kras District, Kediri Regency. The sample was selected using simple random sampling, consisting of 56 households. Primary data from a 24-hour food recall and a structured questionnaire, secondary data from relevant agencies. Descriptive analysis using TKE, PPH indicators, and food expenditure proportion, plus Spearman Rank correlation test. The results show a less diverse consumption pattern with an average TKE of 83.8% and a PPH score of 69.95. The majority of households are food secure, but economically vulnerable due to the proportion of vii food expenditure. Spearman's correlation shows a negative relationship between consumption patterns and food insecurity, so the better the consumption patterns, the stronger the food security. In conclusion, increasing the diversity of food consumption is crucial for farmers' food security, thru local-based diversification and sustainable nutrition education.
