Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the communication patterns between teachers and autistic students at the senior high school level in SLB AGCA Center Surabaya. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method to explore in depth the dynamics of communication occurring in the learning process. The research subjects consist of the principal and teachers who directly interact with autistic students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s technique, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of the research that has been conducted, it can be concluded that the communication patterns of teachers with autistic students at the high school level are dynamic, adaptive and adjust to the characteristics of each student.. In addition, inclusive communication is implemented by adjusting approaches based on each student’s characteristics and needs, while the TEACCH approach is applied to create structured, consistent communication that supports student independence. Teacher reflection also plays a significant role in improving communication effectiveness. The study concludes that the success of learning for autistic students is highly influenced by teachers’ ability to integrate various communication patterns flexibly and contextually Keywords: Communication Patterns, Autistic Students, Inclusive Communication, TEACCH, Special Education
