Abstract
Kebon Agung Sugar Factory is one of the largest sugar producers in East Java with a capacity of 13,000 TTH (Tons of Sugarcane per Day) with a total land area of 180 ha. Therefore, Kebon Agung Sugar Factory needs sugarcane farmers to meet its supply of raw sugarcane. However, farmers also face internal problems, namely limited capital and a lack of production facilities. To solve these problems, a partnership was formed between Kebon Agung Sugar Factory and sugarcane farmers. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the partnership pattern implemented by Kebon Agung Sugar Factory and the factors that influence sugarcane farmers to participate in partnerships. Respondents in this study were field officers of Kebon Agung Sugar Factory and 65 farmers from KUD Pakisaji and KUD Pakis. Data collection in this study used questionnaires and secondary data. Data processing of research results using the Logistic Regression method was carried out on 7 factors that influence farmers' decisions to partner, including age, education level, land area, length of farming, family responsibilities, capital and production facilities. The results of this study are 1) The partnership model implemented by the Kebon Agung Sugar Factory with sugarcane farmers is a nucleus-plasma scheme. 2) Factors influencing farmers' decisions to partner with the Kebon Agung Sugar Factory include age, education level, capital, and production facilities. The results of this study can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the partnership model currently implemented and to help farmers realize the importance of farmer group organizations and partnerships. This is expected to provide policy recommendations to strengthen sustainable partnerships.
