Abstract

This study aims to analyze the condition and alignment of the elements in the McKinsey 7S Model in the management of Favehotel Rungkut Surabaya and to identify challenges in its implementation. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving hotel management and staff, supported by external interviews as a triangulation technique to ensure data validity. Data analysis is conducted using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that there is generally alignment between hard elements (strategy, structure, systems) and soft elements (shared values, style, staff, skills); however, imbalances remain, particularly within the soft elements, including suboptimal human resource development, limited internalization of organizational values, and insufficient employee skill enhancement. Additionally, external factors such as intense industry competition and declining occupancy rates pose challenges to strategy implementation. Therefore, this study recommends enhancing employee training and development, strengthening organizational culture, and adopting more adaptive and integrated strategies to improve hotel performance and long-term competitiveness.
