Abstract
The operational effectiveness of PT Hikmah Sejahtera, particularly the Hikmah Food unit, is threatened by a high and continuously increasing employee turnover rate, rising from 36.54% in 2023 to 40.32% in 2024. This high turnover creates team instability, consumes resources for recruitment and training, and can erode the company's competitiveness. Therefore, this study aims to identify and examine the extent to which Work Motivation and Compensation influence employees’ Turnover Intention. The quantitative method used in this research is saturated sampling involving 50 Hikmah Food employees. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires. Primary data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires distributed via Google Forms, while secondary data consisted of performance and attendance documents. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method. The findings show that compensation has a negative and significant effect on turnover intention. In contrast, work motivation has a negative but insignificant effect on turnover intention. This means that even when employees are given motivation to work, they may still want to leave the company. However, the higher the compensation provided, the lower the employees’ turnover intention is likely to be. The results indicate that the company must pay more attention to elements of work motivation. If employee motivation is maintained and a fair and competitive compensation system is developed, the company can reduce employees’ turnover intention.
