Abstract

This study aims to determine causal relations between two key predictors, namely soft skills and hard skills, against the dependent variable of work readiness on the students East Java Batch 2021 UPN Veterans in East Java. This research has been driven by social anomalies in the form of high unemployment rates and gap readiness between academic output and professional inputs. The method used is quantitative with primary data collection using validated questionnaires. The results show that both soft skills and hard skills have a contribution to students’ working readiness. Students with good soft skills are better able to communicate, work together, and adapt to a professional environment. Meanwhile, students with adequate skills tend to be more prepared for job demands that require technical skills. This finding emphasizes the importance of developing these two aspects during college so that students are able to compete and adapt quickly in the world of work. Keywords: soft skill, hard skil, work readiness
