Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implementation of the 4A components attraction, accessibility, amenities, and ancillary at the 10 November Museum as a historical tourism destination in Surabaya. The museum plays a significant role as an icon of the City of Heroes, serving not only as a place to preserve the history of the 10 November 1945 battle, but also as an educational medium and a cultural tourism site that promotes nationalism. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. The results indicate that the attraction component is well-managed through historical artifact collections, static and electronic dioramas, documentary films, and replicas of military vehicles. In terms of accessibility, the museum is strategically located and easily reachable, yet faces challenges such as limited directional signage, malfunctioning elevators, and the absence of braille trails for visually impaired visitors. The amenities component includes essential facilities such as toilets, prayer rooms, information areas, and air-conditioned exhibition halls, although some, such as interactive screens and air conditioners, require maintenance. For ancillary services, tour guides are available but limited in number. Overall, the implementation of the 4A components at the 10 November Museum is satisfactory, though improvements are needed in accessibility and facility maintenance. The recommendations from this study are expected to guide museum management in enhancing service quality, ensuring the museum’s continued position as a premier historical tourism destination in Surabaya.
