Abstract
In today's industrial world, production machines must continuously operate effectively to prevent companies from incurring losses. This research was conducted at PT BMN to find the best way to maintain the Head Router machine, specifically the bearing and spindle components. The aim of this study is to plan preventive maintenance for the Head Router machine at PT BMN Pasuruan using the Age Replacement method to address unplanned downtime issues. The main focus of the research is to determine the optimal replacement time and inspection intervals for the spindle and bearing components, as well as to analyze changes in downtime after implementing this strategy. The method used is Age Replacement with a preventive maintenance approach. The results of the study show that the optimal replacement time for the bearing is 59,240 minutes and for the spindle is 70,740 minutes. The recommended inspection intervals are 340 hours (15 days) for the bearing and 280 hours (12 days) for the spindle. The research also indicates a reduction in downtime of 78.57% for the bearing and 77.69% for the spindle. Thus, this study demonstrates that Age Replacement significantly improves the operational efficiency of the Head Router machine. This research not only provides specific solutions for PT BMN but also serves as an applicable model for other manufacturing industries that rely on precision equipment.
