Abstract
PG. Kremboong Sidoarjo produces white crystal sugar through a series of processing stages, including emplasement, milling, purification, evaporation, cooking, centrifugation, and finishing. At the emplasement station, sugarcane is collected and prepared in terms of quality before being milled. The milling process extracts sugarcane juice, which is then purified using defecation and sulfitation methods to remove impurities and maintain sucrose quality. The clarified juice is subsequently concentrated in multiple-effect evaporators to produce thick juice, which undergoes crystallization in the cooking station. The formed sucrose crystals are separated from their solution using centrifuges at the centrifugation station, producing crystal sugar and molasses. The final stage is carried out at the finishing station through drying, cooling, screening, and packaging to ensure the sugar has low moisture content, remains protected from damage, and is ready for market distribution.
