Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the representation of role conflict experienced by the sandwich generation through the film 1 Kakak 7 Ponakan directed by Yandy Laurens. The method used was John Fiske’s semiotic analysis with a qualitative approach. The findings indicated that the film portrayed role conflicts experienced by the character Moko as a member of the sandwich generation, including role strain, time-based conflict, and relational conflict. The primary data of this study were derived from the film 1 Kakak 7 Ponakan, specifically from documented scenes that were relevant to the research.
