Abstract

Over time, the number of Instagram users from various social backgrounds continues to grow, including those involved in fields such as tourism management, for example, Village Border Tourism (WBK). Village Border Tourism (WBK) has become one of the well-known tourist destinations in the Surabaya area due to its offering of beautiful natural scenery with a rural atmosphere. This destination is highly suitable as a community-based tourism site, as it frequently hosts various events, both internal and external. The promotion of Village Border Tourism (WBK) through Instagram has helped broaden public awareness about the nature and characteristics of this tourism site. This research aims to analyze how Instagram is utilized as a promotional tool and to identify the challenges encountered in promoting through this platform. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach by presenting detailed explanations and descriptions. The data collection methods applied in this research were interviews and documentation. The findings of this study reveal that Kampung Border Tourism (WBK) effectively utilizes various features available on Instagram. These features, such as photo and video uploads, captions, Instagram Stories, mentions, hashtags, and Reels, play a significant role in supporting WBK's promotional activities. The marketing efforts of Kampung Border Tourism (WBK) through Instagram have proven to be successful in reaching a wide audience. This success is reflected in the increasing number of followers, which has raised public awareness of Kampung Border Tourism (WBK) and contributed to the growth in visitor numbers. Marketing efforts will continue to attract tourists to Kampung Border Tourism (WBK).
