Abstract

Advances in information and communication technology have changed how Generation Z accesses health information, as health is a key aspect of life. Social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok have become the primary sources of information. However, challenges arise due to the validity of the content being shared. Therefore, an evaluation of both platforms is necessary to assess their effectiveness and the benefits received by users. This study aims to evaluate the comparison of Generation Z's acceptance of social media videos on Instagram and TikTok as sources of health knowledge using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Generation Z was selected based on their dominance in using social media today. This study focuses on evaluating and comparing the extent to which Generation Z accepts health video content on TikTok and Instagram, as well as analyzing the influence of each variable on the level of acceptance of health video content. Data was collected from 500 respondents using non-probability sampling techniques, specifically purposive sampling, and analyzed using the Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modeling method. The results of the study indicate that 8 hypotheses were accepted. The majority of respondents were more receptive to health education videos on TikTok as a source of health information compared to health education videos on Instagram.
