Abstract
Grocery stores like Toko Kasih Ibu face significant challenges in maintaining competitiveness amidst the growth of modern markets that offer greater convenience, product variety, and superior services. The significant decline in sales trends in 2024 indicates the need for more effective marketing strategies and store layout planning. This study aims to analyze product purchasing patterns using the FP-Growth algorithm within the Market Basket Analysis (MBA) approach to design optimal product bundling strategies and store layout arrangements. The research method follows the CRISP-DM approach, starting from the collection of transaction data from 2022 to 2024 comprising 468,507 rows, followed by data preparation and transformation, and then modeling using the FP-Growth algorithm with a minimum support of 2% and a minimum confidence of 50%. The analysis produced 11 strong product association rules, including a bundling pattern among Fom Burger Per 10, Pilus SP 500 RTG BAL, and Indomie Goreng PC. Furthermore, category-level analysis using the Activity Relationship Chart (ARC) with the AEIOUX scale provided recommendations for reorganizing the store into four sectors to enhance customer convenience and increase the potential for cross-selling. This study concludes that the implementation of the FP-Growth algorithm with appropriate parameters provides a strong foundation for designing effective product bundling recommendations and product layout strategies to enhance promotional appeal and achieve targeted sales goals.
