Abstract

In 2024, Indonesia held simultaneous Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) as a five-yearly democratic event. Social media was significantly utilized by candidates to convey their vision and mission, and by public figures to endorse candidates. Indonesia's 7th President, Joko Widodo, emerged as a prominent figure actively providing political endorsement through TikTok content. This research examines the endorsement discourse using Rodney H. Jones's digital discourse analysis. The collected data includes TikTok content featuring Joko Widodo's "titip" messages, as well as public comments and responses. The analysis was conducted based on four components: text, context, action and interaction, and ideology and power. The findings indicate that Jokowi's "titip" messages were constructed through specific oral narratives concerning regional development issues, supported by cohesive visual and graphic elements that reinforced the endorsement narrative. The consistency in the delivery and acceptance of this mandate by the candidates formed a clear message texture. Contextually, this discourse is relevant to the dynamics of the 2024 Pilkada and TikTok's dominant role, as well as Jokowi's position as a central political endorser, despite contradictions in official narratives denying intervention. Public response varied: the majority actively supported ("di endors pak jokowi pasti menang"), but there was also criticism, sarcasm, or skepticism. Ideologically and in terms of power, the "titip" message functioned as a transfer of legitimacy and influence, building an ideology of development continuity. Jokowi's power operated as manipulative and hegemonic biopower, forming a "truth discourse" where "titipan" candidates were deemed worthy, as evidenced by the victory of several analyzed candidate pairs. However, the defeat of one candidate pair demonstrated the limitations of this discourse's power
