Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of financial literacy, budgeting behavior, lifestyle, and influence of family and peers on the intensity of using mobile banking for undergraduate accounting students at private universities in Surabaya. This type of research is a quantitative approach with primary data obtained through distributing questionnaires (google forms) to 243 respondents determined using proportionate stratified random sampling techniques. The population in the study were undergraduate accounting students at PTS Surabaya. Data analysis was performed using the Partial Least Square-based Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method using SmartPLS version 4.0 software. The results showed that financial literacy, budgeting behavior, lifestyle, and influence of family and peers had a significant positive effect on the intensity of using mobile banking. These findings can explain the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) that understanding financial literacy, budget planning, lifestyle control, and the role of the social environment are very important in forming the habit of using digital financial services wisely.
