Abstract

In recent years, public interest in skincare has significantly increased especially among younger generations. Numerous skincare applications with skin analysis features have emerged. However, most still have limitations such as being focused only on specific brands, lacking validation from dermatologists, and not offering a comprehensive mobile platform that integrates all essential skincare features. This study aims to design the UI/UX of a skincare application called Skintopia using the User Centered Design (UCD) approach, which emphasizes user needs and preferences. The design process was carried out iteratively, starting from user needs identification, solution design development, to usability evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS) and Heuristic Evaluation methods. The evaluation results showed an increase in SUS scores from 85 to 92 for skincare users and from 82 to 89 for dermatologists. These findings indicate that the implementation of the User Centered Design method successfully produced a UI/UX design that is responsive to user needs and provides an intuitive and user-friendly experience for both types of users.
