Abstract
An agreement is a form of binding agreement between parties with the aim of creating mutual benefits. However, if one party does not fulfill the agreed obligations, a breach of contract may occur which has the potential to cause a legal dispute. In the world of online gaming, Riot Games as the developer of Valorant has established terms of service that regulate the rights and obligations of players, including a prohibition on buying and selling accounts. Violation of these provisions not only risks sanctions for users, but can also cause losses for Riot Games as the owner of the license rights. This study uses a normative legal method with a statute approach, a conceptual approach, and a case study. The purpose of this study is to examine the legality of Valorant account buying and selling transactions in Indonesia based on Riot Games' terms of service and to analyze the legal steps that Riot Games can take in response to these violations. From the results of the study, it is known that Valorant account buying and selling transactions do not have a strong legal basis because they are contrary to the terms of service that have been set by Riot Games. As the license owner, Riot Games has the right to take action against this violation, either through litigation or non-litigation. In addition, this study also discusses the legal impact of the practice of selling Valorant accounts and its consequences for the overall gaming ecosystem. Keywords: Default, Terms of Service, Electronic Transactions, Riot Games, Valorant Game.
