Abstract
Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) is an important component in creating an efficient work atmosphere and encouraging constructive collaboration in the school environment. However, these actions can be reflected from internal conditions such as workload intensity, balance between professional and personal roles, and the extent to which teachers feel satisfied with their profession. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effect of workload and work-life balance on OCB with job satisfaction as an intervening variable on teachers at SMP Negeri 16 Surabaya. This study applies a quantitative approach by utilizing primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through the distribution of questionnaires filled out directly by teachers as respondents, while secondary data were taken from administrative documents such as attendance recaps. The analysis process was carried out using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method to examine the direct relationship between workload and work-life balance on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). The results of the study indicate that workload does not affect Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), either directly or through the role of job satisfaction as a mediator. On the contrary, work-life balance is proven to have a positive and significant influence on OCB, both in direct relationships and through job satisfaction. This study contributes to enriching the application of human resource management, especially in the scope of educational institutions.
