Abstract
The Certified Independent Study and Internship Program (MSIB) is an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology through the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) policy, which aims to provide students with real work experience in the industrial world. One of the partner companies in this program is PT INKA (Persero), which operates in the train manufacturing sector. This Field Work Practice (PKL) documents the experience of a certified intern at PT INKA, especially in the IMS Access Mobile application redesign and development project. The focus of this Field Work Practice (PKL) is on developing mail features and the main application page. The method used in this Field Work Practice (PKL) is design thinking, which consists of five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The development process begins with understanding user needs through interviews and observations, followed by concept design and prototypes that are tested to obtain feedback. The main tool used is Figma for high fidelity prototypes. The results of this Field Work Practice (PKL) show improvements in information management and company operations through the redesigned IMS Access Mobile application. The app's mailing and home page features have been updated with a better layout, improved navigation, and real-time notification features. This project involved a team of three members with significant contributions in UI/UX design and Frontend and Backend implementation. Development results are reflected in several important outputs such as S-Curve and Bar Chart which record the progress of a given project. The resulting application is ready to be tested and used by end users, it is hoped that it can increase productivity and simplify various work processes in PT subsidiaries.
