Abstract
The institution that plays an active role in the development of the 2024 election is social media. Currently, social media has become a source of information for interaction and socialization in the community. This study aims to determine the analysis of detik.com and rmol.id news framing of the news about Gibran Rakabuming as a Candidate for Vice President of Indonesia in 2024 (News Period 16 October 2023 - 14 February 2024). The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The data used in this study are secondary data obtained through Detik.com and Rmol—id websites from 16 October 2023 to 14 February 2024. The data collection techniques used in this study are observation, note-taking, and documentation techniques. After the data is collected, it will be analyzed using the Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki framing analysis model. The results of this study indicate that Detik.com's media framing is more supportive of Gibran compared to Rmol.id, which in its reporting of Gibran Rakabuming as a candidate for vice president of Indonesia is more dominantly negative. In addition, in the writing framing, Detik.com is more careful in writing a narrative that is different from Rmol.id, which critically responds to the main issues related to the political dynasty issue carried out by Jokowi so that Gibran can advance as a vice presidential candidate in 2024.
