Abstract

Employment issues regarding labor absorption are among the main problems that must be paid attention to by the government. This problem arises because there is still an imbalance between the number of job seekers and the number of available jobs, the lack of available jobs causes many of the workforce to not get jobs, and competition among job seekers will increase. Therefore, the government must develop plans to expand the available job opportunities so that labor absorption can be maximized. The aim of this research is to find out whether economic growth, minimum wages and population have an effect on labor absorption in Central Java Province in 2009-2023 using data obtained from BPS Central Java Province. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with regression analysis of time series data. The results of this research conclude that economic growth and population have a positive and significant influence on labor absorption in Central Java Province, while the minimum wage does not have a significant effect on labor absorption in Central Java Province.
