Abstract

Peneleh Heritage Village was inaugurated as a heritage tourism through the Peneleh Festival event organized by the Surabaya City Government, Bank Indonesia, and the History Community, Begandring Soerabaia in 2023. The Begandring Soerabaia Community, which discovered the potential of this village, tried to promote Peneleh Heritage Village so that it would be better known by tourists. One of the promotional efforts made was through Instagram social media. Begandring Soerabaia promotes Peneleh Heritage Village by uploading educational, recreational, and entertaining photo and video content. This study aims to determine the efforts made by Begandring Soerabaia to promote Peneleh Heritage Village by utilizing Instagram social media. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach which will be explained descriptively. Data sources consist of primary data obtained through observation and interviews with informants and secondary data including scientific journals, e-books, statistical data, and photo and video documentation. The data analysis of this study used the Miles and Huberman analysis technique with data processed through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results of the study showed that Begandring Soerabaia promoted Kampung Heritage Peneleh by uploading photo and video content by utilizing 10 features available on Instagram, namely feeds, live, reels, stories, captions, comments, hashtags, direct messages, geotagging, highlights and insights. Uploading content on Instagram is done through four components called the 4C components. These components consist of context, communication, collaboration, and connection. The promotion on Instagram provides new information and insights related to the history and tourist attractions of Kampung Heritage Peneleh to followers of the Instagram account @begandringsoerabaia.
