Abstract

Mental health is an important aspect for every individual for survival that needs to be considered and maintained, both physical, psychological, and social health to achieve a balanced condition. Adolescents are very vulnerable to mental health problems. The most common mental health problem in adolescents is depression or anxiety. Deviant behavior to harm themselves, due to a lack of understanding in managing adolescent emotions. Adolescents who have not been able to validate their feelings become difficult to manage emotions. This phenomenon, occurring during adolescence, is less able to manage psychosocial stressors that lead to prolonged stress. This design raises the title “Designing Video Content for Mental Health Education for Adolescents Aged 17-25 Years”. Video content was chosen because the media is easily accessible to all groups including adolescents. The design of this video is to educate adolescents about mental health in understanding emotional management and provide information and raise awareness of adolescents about the importance of maintaining mental health. The research method used is a qualitative method, which collects primary data through interviews and observations, as well as secondary data through literature studies. The concept compiled is the result of fishbone analysis and 5W+1H which is a creative solution from the keyword “Educational Validation of Adolescents Emotions” which has been applied to the design in the video content component. In designing the concept of this content video, it pays attention to aspects of its function to educate teenagers that are not boring and easy to understand. For an emotional approach by providing a color mood according to the background of the situation. There is an explanation of emotional management that aims to educate adolescents about the importance of mental health for themselves and others. It is hoped that the design of mental health educational content videos can provide new insights for adolescents and the messages conveyed can be well received.
