Abstract
This study analyzes the violations of journalistic ethics found on the Instagram account @eye.on.palestine in its coverage of the Israel-Palestine conflict. The research aims to identify and evaluate the extent to which the content shared by this account adheres to international journalistic ethics standards. The method used is qualitative with a content analysis approach. Research data was collected through non-participatory observation of content published from April 10 to May 10, 2024. The content was categorized into four violation categories: Dishonest and Unfair, Unknown Sources, Privacy Violations, and Inciting Discrimination. The findings reveal that several ethical violations were present, such as unverified information dissemination, exploitation of victim identities without considering psychological impacts, and the use of unsensitized images or videos that violate privacy and child rights. The study concludes that the Instagram account @eye.on.palestine does not fully comply with journalistic ethics standards in its reporting, potentially influencing public perception negatively and exacerbating tensions in the conflict. This study recommends the stricter application of journalistic ethics standards in conflict reporting to ensure information integrity and the protection of individual rights.
