Abstract

Currently, Generation Z has become one of the dominant generations in the workforce. Generation Z is often perceived as having a high turnover rate or being unprepared for long-term commitment to their workplaces. Based on the characteristics of Generation Z, the work environment and work-life balance are two factors that can lead to their decision to leave a job. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the impact of the work environment and work-life balance on turnover intention among Generation Z employees in Gresik Regency. This research employs a quantitative method. The sampling technique utilizes non-probability sampling through purposive sampling, involving 90 Generation Z employees in Gresik Regency. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires and analyzed using partial least squares methodology. The results indicate that the work environment has a significant negative effect on turnover intention, as does work-life balance. The better the work environment and work-life balance perceived by employees, the lower the turnover intention among Generation Z workers in Gresik Regency.
