Abstract

Dear David has the pros and cons of many cases of sexual abuse experienced by women, as this time Lucky Kuswandi the director shows a male figure who is the object of sexuality perpetrated not only by women but also by men. The researchers used Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis method to analyze and criticize the social life reflected in texts or speeches as well as their contexts, signs and films to analyse the men's discourses as victims of sexual abuse in the film Dear David. The film deals with Laras who poured sexual fantasies into his personal blog posts as a form of filling the sexual desires of the character of Laras to his favorite boyfriend David. This is seen from several scenes that show the discourse behind this Dear David movie, namely: (1) Teenage sexual behavior in the film; Teenager (Laras) in the movie DearDavid fulfils his desire by fantasiing about writing erotic stories on a secret blog using an object (David) he likes; (2) Teenager manages sexual information; Privacy management carried out by Laras himself to maintain his positive image as a schoolgirl who performs in school, as head of the axis, as a religious congregation, not to embarrass his family name; (3) Sexual harassment of men; Scenes showing many forms of sexual abuse of the character David when the blog that Laras wrote was just spread, and all his schoolmates imitating David as it is written in the blog.
