Abstract

CV Dipanegara is one of the companies engaged in manufacturing. The company is located in Sidoarjo city, East Java. CV Dipanegara is a company that produces nails, among the types of nails produced include wooden nails, umbrella nails, and concrete nails of various sizes. This company in producing various types of nails is able to produce a range of 5 - 10 tons in total per day by adjusting market demand. CV Dipanegara found that the level of efficiency at each workstation is not optimal and balanced. So the efforts made by balancing the time, the number of operators and the speed of existing machines. so that the increase in production efficiency can increase and the quantity produced can reach the optimum. By analyzing line balancing using the region approach method and ranked positional weight, the company is able to evaluate its production trajectory and improve the production trajectory with the aim of maximizing work efficiency, aligning production balance and minimizing the imbalance of the production trajectory to achieve optimal production. The results of the research of the two methods were selected Regoin approach method has an increase in line efficiency, balanced delay and smoothing index which indicates that the balance of the trajectory that occurs in the production of nails can be more balanced, the delay time of each station is balanced by maximizing production time so that there will be an increase in optimal production. With these results obtained, it is expected that The company applies the Region Apporach method because it is able to improve Line balancing problems contained in the production trajectory so that there can be an increase in balance between work stations.
