Abstract
The aim of this research is to test and prove the influence of environmental factors, business strategy, digital literacy and digital skills on the performance of MSMEs, mediated by the adoption of digital technology. This research is a type of quantitative research using primary data. The data collection method uses a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The population of this research is 106,971 MSMEs in Sidoarjo Regency based on data from the Department of Cooperatives and Micro Enterprises (Ditakopum). The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total of 162 respondents. The data analysis technique is in the form of a variant-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) or Partial Least Square (PLS) structural equation model with the help of SmartPLS version 4.0 software. The research results show that environmental factors and digital literacy influence the adoption of digital technology. Digital skills and business strategy have no effect on digital technology adoption. Business strategy, digital literacy, digital skills and digital technology adoption influence the performance of MSMEs. Meanwhile, environmental factors have no effect on the performance of MSMEs. Another result is that the adoption of digital technology can only mediate the influence of environmental factors on MSME performance. However, digital technology adoption cannot mediate the influence of business strategy, digital literacy and digital skills on MSMEs.
