Abstract

The Adakami issue became a public discussion on Twitter (X) on September 17, 2023, eventually trending as a topic. This research aims to understand the communication networks formed on the social media platform Twitter (X) related to the Adakami issue from September 17-23, 2023. The existence of social media allows the public to express themselves, including conveying public opinions on a discussed issue effectively within a discourse. This study employs a quantitative research method with a descriptive approach based on the positivism paradigm. Data collection was conducted through data mining with query procedures and analyzed using NodeXL Pro and Orange applications. Based on the analysis performed using a multi-level analysis stage correlated with the concept of Digital Movement of Opinion (DMO) theory, it was found that the conversation on the Adakami issue lasted only for 3 days, with sentiments tending to be negative. There are 3 influential actors in this communication network, namely @adakamiofficial, @partaisocmed, and @rakyatvspinjol, based on actor centrality analysis. Meanwhile, there are 3 cross-sector groups involved in the conversation within the communication network.
