Abstract

The impact of using conventional disposable sanitary napkins is an urgent problem to be solved. In addition to having an impact on health because it contains chemicals, conventional disposable sanitary napkins waste is also difficult to decompose and can cause environmental damage. Therefore, an attractive educational media is needed as an effort to increase women's awareness of the impact of conventional disposable sanitary napkins. Campaigns in the form of education can be a place to provide information and messages to be conveyed. This campaign design uses a qualitative method with data collection in the form of questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The data was processed using descriptive analysis, fishbone and 5W+1H consisting of what, who, when, why, where and how. Descriptive analysis is used to describe the conclusions from the results of interviews, questionnaires and observations. Fishbone is used as an outline of the design concept and 5W+1H analysis is used in order to know specifically about this design. After data analysis, the next stage is to formulate a design concept that uses the keyword “Care for EcoFriendly Menstruation”. After that, the keyword can be applied to the verbal concept and visual concept in this campaign. The verbal concept in this campaign is in the form of language style, communication strategy, campaign name and campaign tagline. Meanwhile, the visual concept is in the form of visual style, color, and typography. Then, the next stage is to conduct a visual study until the implementation into the predetermined media. This educational campaign on the utilization of environmentally friendly menstrual sanitation product aims to increase women's awareness of the impact of conventional disposable sanitary napkins. This is done by providing information about the impact of conventional disposable sanitary napkins and other alternative menstrual sanitation product that are healthier and eco-friendly. In addition, it also contains an invitation to switch to using alternative eco-friendly menstrual sanitation product that are healthier.
