Abstract
Education is a planned basic effort to realize the learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential. Education needs to adapt to changing mindset and needs that are fast, practical, and appropriate. The presence of technology in this field of education is able to serve these needs, by taking advantage of the technological advances that can help teachers to provide more sophisticated learning services by providing varied and interesting learning media. A learning medium is an intermediate medium used in teaching and learning activities as a teaching aid and messenger from a learning source to a learning message recipient. The medium of learning is divided into several parts, including functions as a source of learning, semantic functions, manipulative functions, psychological functions, and sociological-cultural functions. Learning media are needed to increase the concentration level of students in learning during study hours as well as build a new atmosphere in learning. Several schools have implemented a variety of learning media, one example of frequently used learning media is video. The teachers admitted that by playing videos, the children became more focused and excited. In addition, video media is very easy for teachers to operate. The subject matter that requires this video medium is 6th grade solar system material. The solar system is one of the science subjects studied by 6th grade students in elementary school. Not a few of them feel that the material is difficult to memorize starting with the planet's name and its features. Therefore, with the design of 2D animation, it is expected to help students learn, of course, with unique and interesting visuals. The design of the 2D video animation of the solar system will contain material according to existing textbooks, starting from the definition of the solar system, celestial bodies in the solar system, names, sequences, and characteristics of 8 planets, as well as names and characteristics of other celestial bodies. At the end of the video there are several issues aimed at interaction with the audience.
