Abstract
The concept of 'Kpopfication politic', which refers to the adoption of K-Pop fan culture into political discourse, has gained prominence in social media discussions following the emergence of the X @aniesbubble account during the 2024 presidential election. The phenomenon has gained various responses due to differing individual perceptions and acceptance levels. Therefore, this study aims to find deeper into the acceptance of Kpopfication politics among Generation Z, as analyzed through the lens of Stuart Hall's reception analysis. In order to achieve this objective, in-depth interviews were conducted with 9 informants who identify as Generation Z and have voting rights. The study identified 5 informants as being in the dominant hegemonic position (informants 1, 2, 6, 7, and 9), 1 as being neutral (informant 5), and 3 as being in the opposition (informants 3, 4, and 8). It was found that the difference in acceptance levels among the informants was influenced by their own political preferences. Generation Z informants with the same political preferences as those promoted by Kpopfication politic had a more positive reception of the phenomenon, while those with different political preferences had either a negative or indifferent attitude towards it..
