Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify and explain the effect of job characteristics, career development on employee performance through job satisfaction of employees at the Office of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection and Population in East Java Province. This type of research according to its method is quantitative research (causal relationship) which is a causal relationship research of the independent variable (independent) and the dependent variable (dependent). The type of data used in this study is from primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The population in this study were employees of the East Java Province's Office of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection and Population with a sample of 88 people.. The data analysis method in this study used Partial Least Square (PLS). Based on the test results, the following conclusions can be drawn: Job characteristics contribute to improving employee performance Career development contributes to improving employee performance Job characteristics contribute to improving performance through employee job satisfaction Career development does not contribute to improving performance through satisfaction Work.
