Abstract
The development of the business world at this time is quite rapid, as evidenced by the emergence of many competing companies that have good competitive advantages, one of which is the implementation of Good Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility activities to increase the profitability of a company. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Good Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility on the profitability of agricultural companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2015 – 2019. The method used in this study was purposive sampling where there were 12 companies from 21 agricultural companies. The variables in this study include the Board of Directors (X1), Independent Board of Commissioners (X2), Public Ownership (X3), Corporate Social Responsibility (X4) as the independent variable, and Profitability (Y) as the dependent variable. The data used in this study is secondary data with a combination of time series and cross sectional. The data analysis method used is descriptive analysis and panel data regression analysis using Eviews 12 SV software. The results show that (1) the Board of Directors has a positive and significant effect, (2) the Independent Board of Commissioners has a negative and significant effect, (3) Public Ownership has a negative and insignificant effect, (4) Corporate Social Responsibility has a negative and significant effect, (5) Good Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility simultaneously affect the profitability of agricultural companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2015 – 2019.
