Abstract
Circumcision or in Arabic is Khatnun which means cutting off the front. According to the term circumcision, that is cutting the foreskin (the foreskin of the male genitalia) where the foreskin is the head covering of the testicles so that the male genitalia are not easily exposed to the remaining dirt of urine attached to the inner genitals. At this time there are still boys who are still afraid of circumcision and do not even know the benefits. It is very unfortunate because this boy is always afraid to carry out circumcision. It is at this time that these children must know and apply education about the importance and benefits of circumcision. And this boy must be brave and have no fear in circumcision and must understand what the benefits are after doing circumcision. So we need a media design that can make educational materials for boys in Indonesia, especially so that they can know what circumcision is, its benefits so that they are no longer afraid of circumcision. In this design data collection through primary data. From this primary data using qualitative methods. This qualitative method uses the results of questionnaires, interviews with children's parents and interviews with pediatric circumcision doctors. In this design there are several methods of data analysis. In collecting this data, it was obtained from the results of questionnaire data, interviews, and observations which were part of the qualitative method. In this design using 5W+1H process and analysis. From the results of this design data collection process which resulted in the keyword "Many Benefits of Circumcision". Therefore, through the design of the illustration book “Circumcision? Who's Afraid!”, this can be expected and can provide education and to the target audience of readers, namely for ages 9 to 12 years, especially in the East Java region. In this illustrated book, it contains the delivery of the story of the main character who was currently doing circumcision, and in this book contains educational information about what circumcision is, what the law is, and the benefits of circumcision even about that it doesn't hurt at all. With this design, it is hoped that boys, especially those in Indonesia, may be able to understand what circumcision is, its benefits and can make them feel confident and not afraid anymore if they want to carry out circumcision.
