Abstract
Traditional markets are places where sellers and buyers meet and marked by the existence of direct buyer-seller transactions and usually there are bargaining process, traditional markets do not only accommodate activities economic, but also social interactions. The city of Surabaya itself also has a market traditional historical and legendary that is often visited is Pasar Keputran, Customs Market, Blauran Market and Tile Market. Of the four markets This legend has a variety of traditions and cultures that have the various characteristics and characteristics of each market environment, it is become one of the hereditary heritage which is an asset of the city of Surabaya. The design of this visual book provides information related to various traditions and traditions culture that has the character and characteristics of each market with use photography. To realize the right and appropriate design target, it is necessary to use a design basis using primary data collection method in the form of interviews with the market and the target audience, in addition, observations were made in each market. While secondary data obtained from the literature both from books and journals. Analysis used in this design is a domain analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the design of the book visual traditional market has a concept as a visual book that conveys various kinds of traditions and cultures or habits that are still maintained in market environment as is without engineering in a traditional market environment who use photography with street photography techniques. In this design, it is hoped that through this traditional market visual book can provide insight and information to the community about traditions and the culture in the traditional market which is one of the assets of the city of Surabaya and can be preserved in the future.
