Abstract

The leather puppet show is one of the art masterpieces of Indonesia. The story in the leather puppet show taught countless life lessons for all ages, but since technological advances, the teenager starting to apathetic toward the leather puppet show. Based on the result of the questionnaires that have been done, the majority of teenagers not watching the show. Currently, the Internet is a need that required for all individuals especially the teenager. The majority of teenagers used a smartphone to search and enjoy entertainment such as reading comic digitals. Comic digital is a comic that could be accessed whenever and wherever it is, as long there is are internet networks available. Comic digital that often accessed is Webtoon. Webtoon is an application that provides various titles that can read for free. This design used qualitative and quantitative methods to collect data through interviews, questionnaires, and observations in online approach. This design also used reference trough books and journals to eased in writing report and collects data that related to this design In this design will tell a story about Rahwana in Ramayana saga. Rahwana will be used to inform the teenager that even antagonist characters can give various life lessons which no less important than the protagonist character such as Rama. This matter intended to show that the leather puppet show is a masterpiece that has uncountable interpretation depends on the viewpoint that was used. Hopefully trough comic digital in this design may persuade the teenager to start to understand the art of leather puppet show which has countless life lessons so this masterpiece will last for the next generation Keywords: Rahwana, Leather Puppet, Comic Digital, Life Lessons
