Abstract
One of the regional tourism sectors in Indonesia, especially the East Java region which has abundant natural potential is Malang Regency. Malang Regency is a city that has tourist attractions that spread throughout the district. With the abundance of tourism, especially the natural beach tourism, Malang Regency is known as Malang Seribu Pantai (a thousand of beaches). This causes foreign tourists and domestic tourists visiting Malang Regency to experience an increase. However, in 2020 tourists visiting Malang Regency experienced a decline due to a significant impact on Indonesian tourism due to the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, so Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) had to be implemented. The large number of visitors in the Malang Regency area was not followed by a sufficient number of lodging accommodations and accessibility. Making it difficult for tourists when they are going to visit other tours and often results in tourist destination objects getting dirtier and causing natural damage. Environmental problems in Malang Regency can be responded to by providing tourism facilities in the form of places to stay that still pay attention to environmental aspects and their location can become an intermediary between the many tourist attractions in Malang Regency. This can be controlled through the construction of a five-star resort hotel with an ecological architectural approach and additional accessibility that makes it easier for tourists. Therefore, the approach used in this resort hotel uses an ecological architectural approach to the building. With this approach, we will use natural materials so that we can properly apply aspects of the ecological approach to buildings. Keywords: Ecological architecture, Malang Regency, Resort
