Abstract
In everyday life, every individual cannot be separated from communication activities. Communication is also one of the important aspects for a dentist in providing a diagnosis to patients. With the rapid advancement of technology, now communication can be done online as well as doctor's consultation with patients. The purpose of this study was to find out and understand the communication between doctors and patients in online consultations via the WhatsApp application during the Covid-19 pandemic at the drg.Anggraeni Puspitasari clinic. A qualitative descriptive approach using an analysis of the communication process between doctors and patients proposed by Silverman et al. In this communication process there are stages in doctor-patient communication such as initiating the session, gathering information, explaining and planning, closing the session. Data collection was carried out using in-depth interviews with semi- structured questions. The results of this study are that effective communication is an important factor in the online consultation process at the drg. Anggraeni Puspitasari clinic. There are four stages that occur during the online consultation process, namely starting the interview, gathering information, explaining patient complaints and planning medical actions that need to be taken, closing the consultation by reassuring the patient's understanding of the medical actions that need to be taken.
