Abstract
Children are a precious gift from God who has the right to be protected. But in reality in Indonesia there are many acts of child abuse. Acts of violence can have an impact that can affect a child's life. In addition, many children do not understand violence and its prevention efforts. Given these phenomena and problems, research was conducted on providing education to children regarding understanding acts of violence and how to grow courage in an effort to prevent acts of violence. The methodology used in this research is descriptive quantitative method with data collection techniques using questionnaires on the target audience and descriptive qualitative with in-depth interview techniques with expert informants. In the process of analysis carried out, it was found that education on how to prevent acts of violence is very important for children. So we need a media as a means of delivering education. The design of using illustrated book media with the addition of lift the flap and pop up techniques can attract children's reading interest and can thus create a pleasant reading experience. This book uses a simple language style so that it can be easily understood by children and presents visuals in the form of illustrations with typical children's drawing styles such as cute cartoons, bright color tones. With this design, it is hoped that it can become an early education as an introduction to children about acts of violence and efforts to prevent them. So that children can understand forms of violence and can apply a courageous attitude to prevent acts of violence. Keywords: illustration book, education, violence, children
