Abstract
Batik is one of Indonesia's cultural heritages in the form of cloth that is specially made and has its own distinctive motifs. An institution of the United Nations (UN) which is in charge of cultural issues, UNESCO has approved batik as an intangible cultural heritage produced by Indonesia. Unfortunately, many young people rarely use this cultural heritage. Based on the results of the questionnaire conducted, in a week 50% of young people never wear batik at all, and another 39.1% only wear it once a week. Even though young people know how important it is to maintain the preservation of this batik. In designing the "Batik Hangout" campaign, Instagram social media is used. Data collection methods in this design are qualitative and quantitative methods obtained through questionnaires, interviews and observations and then analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis, customer insight analysis, data synthesis, and Unique selling proposition (USP). From the results of the analysis obtained data synthesis used for design campaign with a design concept that has the keyword "Batik Everywhere", so that on Instagram the design of this campaign displays batik that is used in various places. It is hoped that the "Batik Hangout" campaign will normalize batik in casual activities, especially for young people so that batik can be maintained wherever and whenever it is.
