Abstract
The pre-planned calcium chloride factory is planned to be able to produce with a capacity of 16,000 tons/year in solid crystal form. Briefly the description of the process of this calcium chloride plant, namely, first the raw material in the form of quicklime is fed from the quicklime storage tank (F-121) to the CaO dissolution reactor (R-120) to dissolve the quicklime with water to become Ca(OH)2. The HCl stored in the HCl storage tank (F-111) is flowed into the HCl diluent mixer (M-112) to dilute 32% HCl to 12%. 12% HCl and CaO solution were fed to the neutralization reactor (R-110) to produce CaCl2 and the remaining unreacted Ca(OH)2. CaCl2 and impurities are fed to the filter press (H-211) to separate CaCl2 from the remaining Ca(OH)2. CaCl2 is fed to the evaporator (V-210) to concentrate the CaCl2 solution by evaporating the H2O contained. Concentrated CaCl2 flows into the crystallizer (X-213) to carry out the crystallization process and produce CaCl2 crystals and mother liquor. The product from the crystallizer (X-213) is fed to the centrifuge (H-214) to separate the CaCl2 crystals from the mother liquor. The CaCl2 crystals were fed to the rotary dryer (B-310) to evaporate the remaining H2O still contained on the surface of the crystals. Dry CaCl2 crystals are fed to the product storage bin (F-315) to be packaged and distributed.
