Abstract
The development of startups in Indonesia has developed quite significantly in the last 10 years, now Indonesia is ranked 6th out of 10 countries with the highest number of startups in the world. This shows that there is a great interest in business in this field, especially among the younger generation who are the dominant population. The city of Surabaya as the capital and business city of East Java province has great potential and an ideal ecosystem to become the center of this startup business development. However, Surabaya does not yet have a dedicated facility to support this business. In addition, there is the Techno-stress phenomenon which causes a decrease in productivity among digital workers who are increasing and becoming a new problem for developing this business. Surabaya Digital Hub which functions as a forum that supports startup business development in Surabaya. This facility will be designed with a Biophilic Architecture approach that is proven to be able to increase productivity and reduce stress by using natural elements in the design. This facility is intended to develop the potentials in the startup sector in the city of Surabaya which are not only complete but also able to increase user productivity through the use of natural elements in building designs. Surabaya Digital Hub is designed in the form of a suitable mass arrangement based on site analysis and environmental potential analysis. The internal spatial arrangement is based on site analysis and follows the elements of Biophilic Architecture, resulting in a dynamic and connected spatial arrangement with the environment. The appearance of building uses environmentally friendly fabricated materials that are made to resemble natural materials such as wood. The building facade is designed with a secondary skin which has a repeating pattern and openings that support natural ventilation and natural lighting. The building is designed using energy-saving technologies for building operational needs.
