Abstract
Indonesia hasn’t been able to become the world's largest exporter of tea, while the export volume of Indonesian tea can reach tens of thousands of tons as a result of contributions from various provinces, for example East Java. East Java tea production in 2018 was 88% produced by PTPN XII, so that the amount of PTPN XII tea production had an impact on the development of East Java exports and had an impact on national tea exports. The objectives of this study were to 1) Analyze the development and prediction of PTPN XII black tea production; 2) Describe the development of PTPN XII black tea marketing for domestic and export markets; 3) Analyze the factors that affect the export volume of PTPN XII black tea; 4) Describe the opportunities and constraints and solutions of PTPN XII black tea export. Secondary data collection using documentary method and primary data collection by interview method. The analysis method used is descriptive qualitative to describe the development of black tea marketing for the domestic and export markets and to describe the opportunities and constraints of black tea exports and their solutions, and quantitative methods are used to analyze the development and predictions of black tea production using trend analysis and to analyze the factors affecting black tea export volume using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that 1) Production realization in 2005-2019 and prediction of PTPN XII black tea production in 2020-2029 has decreased; 2) Domestic sales volume has increased, export sales have decreased in volume; 3) The factors that significantly influence the export volume of PTPN XII black tea are the production volume with a sign of positive influence; 4) The opportunity for PTPN XII black tea export is that the world tea market isn’t yet saturated and PTPN XII still has the support of stakeholders who help its business processes. The constraints are the value of the tea production cost each year is higher than the market selling price, the company hasn’t been able to meet the quality and quantity demanded due to constraints on the on-farm sector, the content of tea compounds exceeds the limit of certain country requirements, and dependence on upstream sector businesses. Keywords: determinants of export volume, marketing, trend, multiple linear regression, plantation, and black tea.
