Abstract

In the current 4.0 era, rapid technological changes were brought. Currently, digitalization such as gadgets and electronics is needed by the community. To get a faster response time, a faster network is also needed. Many network operator companies compete to attract consumers. One of the strategies used is sponsorship/advertising, but in the current era, many companies make advertisements that leave elements of nationalism and lead to westernism. Therefore, in order to maintain the spirit of nationalism for Indonesia, researchers analyzed advertisements which according to researchers still contained attitudes or indicators of state defense values which in each scene represented the attitude of defending the country. In conducting the research, the researcher uses a qualitative descriptive method to dissect, examine the meaning, signs in visual communication and behavior that represent the values of defending the country in the tri version of the advertisement "Jaringan Baru Tri Untuk Indonesia Maju” Through Charles Sanders' semiotic theory Peirce put forward the theory of the triangle of meaning which consists of three main elements, namely sign, object and interpretant. The results of the study show that in Tri's ad version "Jaringan Baru Tri Untuk Indonesia Maju" represents the values of defending the country as seen in the symbols in the ad. from the indicators of the values of defending the country in advertisements, it is shown by a proud attitude towards natural wealth in Indonesia. Indicators of state defense values are represented through an attitude of love and pride for the homeland, carrying out their respective professions to advance the nation and state, introducing traditional musical instruments to the world through social media, and promoting and developing the Indonesian nation by building a signal network structure which are located throughout the archipelago.
